(HOLDREGE, Neb.) – The Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District’s board of directors voted unanimously during a special board meeting Friday (Sept. 25) to select Timothy Cerveny as the District’s next general manager.
Cerveny, who is currently the Princeton Road Station Manager at Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) and has more than 35 years of experience in the utility industry, will succeed Devin Brundage, who has been the general manager since 2019 and is retiring at the end of December.
In his role at NPPD, Cerveny was involved in direct design and engineering for the construction of a 694-megawatt generating facility. He created the staffing, maintenance and operations plans. He served on multiple senior management teams at NPPD creating policy and strategic plans for the organization.
Cerveny spent the first 25 years of his career with NPPD starting out as a substation technician and working his way up to management positions. From 2008-16 he was the asset management specialist where he created programs to identify areas of improvement and capital planning. He then worked at Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN) in Lincoln as a manager of resources and transmission from 2016-24 before returning to NPPD in his current role. While at MEAN he was involved in contract negotiations, including the energy contract with Central for power generated at the J-1 and J-2 Hydroplants.
Cerveny graduated with a degree in Electromechanical Technology from Southeast Community College in December 1991 then earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Bellevue University.

Cerveny becomes Central’s 10th general manager since the District was formed in 1935.
