(HOLDREGE, Neb.) - The Central Nebraska Public Power & Irrigation District is interested in receiving proposals for the purchase of energy from the Jeffrey Hydro Plant. The proposal, if deemed acceptable by Central, will be used as the basis for development of a long-term power purchase agreement contract beginning on January 1, 2025.
Jeffrey Hydro (20 MW), located at the outlet of Jeffrey Reservoir south of Brady, Neb., has been certified by the Low Impact Hydro Institute. It began generating in 1941 and is remotely operated by the Gothenburg Control Center. The control center is continuously manned to monitor and operate the Jeffrey hydro plant and the three other Central hydro plants within the District.
